#anneofcleves hem has to be done by hand. As I can’t tell when I’ve overdone things I am just making myself stop after 4m. So I have done 4m today which is 1/8 of the gold hemming. Then need to do the wool guards.

My princesse dress was draped on the stand but is based in part on this 1878 Snowshill Manor dress in Patterns of Fashion.

Sheer skirt layer cut. It’s a bit tricky but managed to get specific pleats so this should work for the final fit. Also not looking forward to the seams!

Testing some 1870s draping with a hand painted Saree that is gold and sheer. Feels very much a lot like draping an early Mantua, funnily enough. But over an hourglass form.

Took far too long to drape what really doesn’t look like any care has been taken. This will need to be hand basted to keep the shape.

They are several years apart but I really needed to have a small visual guide to the shape of the gores to allow for those deep pleats.

I feel this is symbolic or something. We have peace, but it’s from totally trying for peace and respecting boundaries. Though that’s tough when resources such as cat food at at stake.
