material: silk damask and silk brocade

Well this certainly ticks the most well know features of the era: ruffles? Tick, contrast of colour? Tick. The ruffles are wider than regularly seen but appear to be making best use of the brocade which seems to be woven as a border.

It looks like this might have been an 1850's gown remade into the 1870's style later on. The ruffles even have some of the 1850's aesthetic to them. I'm thinking it looked something more like this in the 1850s or this.
